Föhrenbach expands range of motorized precision slides

  • Profiled guide slides with spindle drive are now also available with sheet metal covering as standard
  • Increased stroke with the same base plate length

The company Föhrenbach GmbH, an innovative manufacturer in automation and handling technology in precision mechanical engineering, now also offers the product series of profiled guide slides with ball screw drive with sheet metal covering as standard.

The new precision slide type “PCS” was developed according to the requirements of engineering and special-purpose engineering. The new sheet metal covering offers an optimum protection against dirt, hot particles and temperature influences from above. It is no longer necessary to replace parts such as the conventional bellows because of wear. Compared to the conventional bellows covering, it is possible to execute increased strokes with the same base plate length, so that we can also offer suitable linear axes for areas of application with small installation spaces.

The new PCS axes have a compact structure and an attractive design. The sheet metal covering is wear-free and does not cause any noises during operation like the bellows covering. The PCS is available in the sizes 100, 155 and 225 mm. Strokes of up to 1825 mm can be realised in the standard version, and even longer strokes can be realised in special versions.

The pre-finished PCS axes can be installed easily and are delivered with integrated limit switches and fitting bores in the sliding part. The motor is attached via a flange with coupling or, alternatively, via belt drive. The company Föhrenbach can also offer complete solutions with motor, controller and control system. The ball screw drive and the guide carriage are lubricated for the entire service life by the company. Optionally, we can also offer a central lubrication.

The guides of the PCS axes are free of play like the PFS axes (profiled guide slide with conventional bellows covering). In terms of materials, the base plates and end plates are available in aluminium, natural anodised or grey cast iron GGK-25 (for the sizes 155 and 225), and the sliding parts are available in grey cast iron chemically nickel-plated. The ball screw drives are available in the qualities T5 and T7 with a spindle pitch of 5 to 50 mm. The PCS axes are predestined for the use for precise positioning tasks with limited installation length and high cycle times.
